PC Help
Sometimes people ask me about helping them installing software/fixing weird problems with their computers. When bringing your laptop/desktop to me is not the best option, remote debugging is a good idea.
To let me help you, please read through (you do not have to understand any of them) and do all the following, unless I ask you not to do any specific step:
1. If you are experiencing weird problems related to your PC performance (running slowly), please download and install LookInMyPC and run it, then ask the program to send the report to me: htruong @ tnhh.net. Notify me after that.
2. Fixing your PC usually needs interactions from my side (working on it), so please download and install RealVNC. This program allows me to control your computer when you agree to. You just click on "Proceed to Download" (you can skip the registration info), and "VNC Free Edition for Windows". Install that -- just click Next all the time, when it asks for password, you can choose a password you like, a strong password is better than a weak one (do not use 123456 please). Then tell me when we can both be free to initiate the remote connection.
When we're ready to initiate the connection, please start VNC Server by clicking on Start menu, then All Programs > Real VNC > Real VNC User Mode > RealVNC Server. Right-click on the small icon that just appeared on your "clock tray", then click "Add client". It will ask for my IP address. Put in lunix.tnhh.net.
Thank you for trusting me in helping you!
